The Nguzo Saba principle is Kuumba, creativity and MILWAUKEE is preparing to celebrate the third

annual Milwaukee Black Theater Festival from August 10-14. The week-long celebration of Black arts

and culture features free and ticketed events throughout each day, including full-production and staged

reading plays, an R&B Gospel fundraiser concert, spoken word and dance performances, and talk-

back and panel discussions. This year’s theme is The Black Family: Generations Speak! presented by

generations of Black artists, includes events for the entire family, acknowledges community challenges,

and encourages everyone to come together now to celebrate Black theater, healing, and unity stories

and put a spotlight on emerging young Black playwrights and professional theater organizations.

Sankofa Council of Milwaukee welcomes guest, Sheri Williams Pannell who will discuss the importance

of black art, artists and black culture as a vehicle to achieve healing and unity. We look forward to a

preview of the celebration as we learn about performance arts by African American authors,

playwrights, poets, musicians, and composers. Program will begin broadcasting at 6pm central time. One can listen by calling (215}490-9832.
